  • Decisions about the consistency maintenance activities can be made at compile time (statically), or at run time (dynamically).

• Classes:

  • Static schemes (s) as in [WULF72, VEIDE86, CHEON89]
  • Dynamic schemes (d) as in [SMITH85, BENN90, TARTA92]

• Comment:

  • Only the schemes that require absolutely no compile time analysis, are referred to as dynamic schemes.
