Mount Lukavica was in Turkish hands till 1799,
when it was taken (in a battle) by Montenegrians
(one of my ancestors, Stevo, lost his life there).

Since that time,
tribes of Montenegro herd there their sheep, cattle, and goats (SCG)
during summers, typically from May 15 till October 15.

In Springs and Autumns they herd their SCG at lower altitudes,
i.e. at about 1000m
(at Lukavica, they do that at about 2000m).

Early in the 19th century, King Nikolas
divided Mount Lukavica to 5 tribes:
Piperi (my tribe), Bjelopavlici, Rovcani, Zagaracani, and Zupljani.

Each Brotherhood/Village got its own corner
and our cottages are in the corner belonging to
Stijena (my village), Blizna, and Rijeka.

People from my village, in Springs and Autumns go to Kamenik
(location called: Zalevica Do), about 6 hours away on foot,
both from Stijena and from Lukavica (interesting hiking excursion).
