Education, Previous Positions, and Research Experience
 

Vladan Devedzic was born in 1959, in Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro (ex Yugoslavia). He received his BS, MS and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro (ex Yugoslavia), in 1982, 1988, and 1993, respectively.

From fall 1982 to fall 1985 he was with the Department of Computer Science of the Institute for Nuclear Sciences, Vinca, Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro (ex Yugoslavia). His duties included R&D in the areas of microcomputer systems and data communication.

From fall 1985 to fall 1995 Vladan Devedzic was with the "Mihailo Pupin" Institute, Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro. Up to 1990, he participated in developing the RL programming language, control software for aircraft flight simulators, expert systems and knowledge-based systems for industrial applications, and control software for flexible manufacturing systems. From early 1991 till fall 1995 he was a member of the Intelligent Systems Group of the "Mihailo Pupin" Institute, where he developed software techniques for representing expert knowledge and intelligent reasoning, as well as expert system building tools.

Since fall 1995, he is with the University of Belgrade, FON - School with Business Administration, Department of Information Systems and Technologies. Up to 2000, he was an Assistant Professor, and from 2000 to 2005 he was an Associate Professor. Since June 2005, he is a Professor of computer science.
